I am Heather, just a girl from Maine. I lost my husband two years ago to colon cancer. I started to write a blog to keep family and friends updated on our journey, so that cancer did not have to take over every conversation and creep into our every day life. But then my husband died. And I kept writing and updating. And it felt good, therapeutic in a way, to write...so I continue to do so. Maybe somewhere along the way...I can help a fellow widow or widower, or inspire someone or give hope that life can move forward and it is possible to smile again.
I am grateful for my life, for meeting my soul mate and marrying him, having a baby with him and for all that we went through together. I am who I am today because of him...and for that I am blessed.
