Flag!

Last weekend Chase, Millie and I headed to Bangor to visit Mimi, Auntie Tam and to ice fish with some of Dadda's best friends.  We had so much fun!

None of us had been up to Bangor in a long, long time.  Mimi always comes down to KBPT to see Chase and since I am always driving, it is hard to want to get in a car on a weekend and drive 2.5 hours North!  But we did it and it was so worth it.  Not only did I get to sleep in one day (until 11!) we fished, skied, snowmobiled and played with the Martin kids all day.  It was the perfect winter weekend and Chase loved being up at Mimi's house.

It was hard at first, being there without Alec.  I was sad and I wished he were there.  At times we would cry, his mom, sister and me, reminiscing about Alec and the good times....but then Chase would do something that would get us all laughing again, and we were reminded how truly blessed we are.

When we met up with John and Jaime and some other friends of theirs and Alec's,  I said to them how special this weekend was and how much I wish Alec was here.  Jaime told me that she and John had seen a bald eagle hanging around their side of the lake, and they were sure it was Alec.  I believe it.

Despite the very cold, snowy weather, lots of fish were caught and the kids had a ball.  Chase was running around with Jack, Alex and Ellie, who were more than eager to show him how to fish.  While Mommy and Jaime warmed up with some hot chocolate and Bailys!

I am so glad we made it up and I hope we make this an annual weekend.  The Alec Cyr ice fishing derby is still on going, thanks to his friend West who has taken it upon himself to keep his friends memory alive through the derby.  It is such a great idea and he puts a lot of time and effort into it and I am so thankful.  I am pretty sure Jack is going to win at least one category, that kid can fish!

Hope you are enjoying winter as much as we are!  If not, Spring is right around the corner!

Chase's first time to Pushaw Lake!

Mimi looooooved having me there!

Millie was very happy to be back!

Alex took such good care of me, he is such a good little boy!

When I saw Uncle John I gave him the biggest bear hug...I love him so much.

What are the twins looking at?  Must be something good!

Alex, Ellie, Jack and Chase!
"This is a fish Chase, fish, not ish!"
Mommy took me on my first snowmobile ride!  I loved it!

Ellie is the cutest girl I have ever seen, I hope Chase marries her some day.
Jack catches all the big ones!
John and Jaime, friends of Alec since first grade.

Staying warm with some cold ones!
