Is Summer Really Over!?

Not that I can complain, because we have had such an awesome summer, but really? Is it over? I guess the pumpkins I placed on our front steps last weekend confirm its true.

What is even harder to believe is that it has been almost a year since Alec was diagnosed with cancer...a YEAR.

We have been soaking in the sun and trying to get as much vitamin D as possible before hibernation begins. Alec is still doing well, 3 more rounds of chemo before another scan, then Dr. Allen will decide if they can move forward with surgery. We are praying that we get some more good news :)

The past few weeks have been so much fun. Labor Day weekend we went to check out Peaks Island, Jill and Brian's wedding destination for 8/6/11! Peaks Island is SO BEAUTIFUL! My Mom, Dad, Jill, Alec and I explored the entire island on our bikes, the entire island is so pretty, we just cant wait until the big day. Weddings is the number one topic amongst the ladies in the DeMarco family. We have been dress shopping a few times, Jill found "the one" and had her first fitting Tuesday night. I cant believe it is the last time we will be dress shopping, at least until Julia!

We also celebrated Alec's sister Tam's 40th Birthday! It was a delicious lobster feast, what could be better than lobster on your 40th!?

Last weekend Caitlin, baby Emmette, and the Mogul family came up for a fabulous beach day and a little fishing! It was so much fun and their babies are too cute. Alec's nurse Katie even stopped in to say hello Saturday night, she was in KBPT for a bachlorette party, we were so happy she could finally meet Millie in real life and see our home!

Alec has another treatment today, it seems a new drug for nausea has really helped him manage, so that is such a relief. We just keep praying that the chemo continues to do its job and HOPE that there is a light at the end of this tunnel.

Thank you for your continued prayers, support, love. We are so blessed!

Love,

Heather, Alec and Millie
