Easter Blessings

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

Alec and I had a quiet, but delightful day. We went to church in the morning, which was a beautiful way to start the day, such a nice service. By the time we left the temperature had risen to 72 degrees! We went home and immediately took the dogs for a nice long walk on the beach.

The warmth and the sun felt so good, while it lasted...the sun did go away at about 1:00, but we enjoyed it. I think I even got a little (but much needed) color. We ended the day with another walk on the beach, up at Fortunes Rocks, just as the sun was setting. The sky was incredible, it was as pretty as I have ever seen, all different pinks and purples. I wished I had my camera with me, but some moments are meant to just remember and soak in. It was the perfect way to end an Easter celebration and the resurrection of our savior. God is good.

I love Easter because it is all about new beginnings and HOPE. There are flowers blooming, warmer, longer days, and every where you look there seems to be a miracle taking place. As I sat through Sunday's service and felt little Bam kick, I couldn't help but feel completely grateful for all the blessings and miracles that surround us, every moment is truly a gift.

I also love watching children on Easter, they look so cute in their little outfits and get so excited about what the big bunny brought them. One little boy from church had an Easter bat (yes, bat as in flying, black, gross bat). He thought it was the greatest thing and had to show the entire church his Easter bat, along with the picture he drew of it. So cute! We also received lots of pictures of family and friends children, some celebrating their first Easter...they could not be any more adorable!

Miss Julia and her floppy ears...

Baby Mary's first Easter..

Baby Sofia's first Easter..

And baby Georgia's first Easter...

And little Mia who is getting so big...

And lucky Josh who celebrated Easter morning in Florida...

And last but not least, Jill even sent me a photo of her little cherub on Easter morning. I am pretty sure she is begging Jill for a piece of her Easter basket...

It was an Easter to remember and we are so thankful for all that we are blessed with. We had an ultrasound today, Bam is "head down" and doing great. He/she was sucking on the umbilical cord (ewe!) and seemed to be staring right at us (weird!). The tech also pointed out that there was a full head of hair! Crazy! 3 weeks to go!

Thank you all for your love and support. We hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend with God, family and friends!

Love,

Heather, Alec, Millie and Bam!

PS...here is a funny joke our Pastor told, I was laughing so hard...

A man was blissfully driving along the highway when he saw the Easter Bunny hopping across the middle of the road. He swerved to avoid hitting the bunny, but unfortunately the rabbit jumped in front of his car and was hit. The basket of eggs went flying all over the place. Chocolate, too. The driver, being a sensitive man - as well as an animal lover, pulled over to the side of the road and got out to see what had become of the bunny carrying the basket. Much to his dismay, the colorful bunny was dead. The driver felt guilty and began to cry. A woman driving down the same highway saw the man crying on the side of the road and pulled over. She stepped out of her car and asked the man what was wrong. "I feel terrible," he explained. "I accidentally hit the Easter Bunny and killed him. There may not be an Easter because of me. What should I do?" The woman told the man not to worry. She knew exactly what to do. She went to her car booth and pulled out a spray can. She walked over to the limp, dead bunny and sprayed the entire contents of the can onto the little furry animal. Miraculously the Easter Bunny came back to life, jumped up, picked up the spilled eggs and chocolate, waved its paw at the two humans and hopped on down the road. Fifty yards away the Easter Bunny stopped, turned around, waved, and hopped on down the road another fifty yards, turned around, waved, hopped another fifty yards, turned around, and waved again!!! The man was astonished. He said to the woman, "What in heaven's name is in your spray can?" The woman turned the can around so that the man could read the label. It said, "Hair Spray: Restores life to dead hair. Adds permanent wave."
