We finally got news on Alec's scans. It wasn't easy getting through the weekend without knowing, but we kept busy and were surrounded by family. Anyways, it looks like the chemo is working in some areas, but not the liver. Dr. Allen said she sees growth there and that is a concern. We are sitting down with her on Friday to go over all our options and she is looking into clinical trials that will target the liver. This wasn't the news that we were hoping and praying for, but it also is not the worst news we could have gotten. So again, we are gathering our strength and getting ready for this next fight. We know that Dr. Allen is going to have a kick butt plan in place. We also know that God is with us and we can not lose HOPE, Chase needs his Mommy and Daddy.
We did enjoy the weekend, Alec got lots of fishing in and Chase and I had some fun at the beach with my family. Monday, we laced up and ran in the Goose Rocks Beach 5K, Me, Chase, Millie and my Dad and Alec! It was my Dad's first race, he hasnt run since 1968 and at age 60, he did pretty darn well! Alec started and finished with us, but dissapeared during the middle (hmmm....suspicious you think!?)
Millie got cheered on the most throughout the race, and Chase slept the entire time, he missed his first road race! But I am sure there will be plenty more.
Finn kept taking Chase's pacifier! We would be sitting there and all of a sudden it would be gone and sticking out of Finns mouth. Bad dog! (But pretty funny!)
Chase and Dadda taking a nap after a long day.
Our little piggy...Chase had his doctors appointment last week and he's a whopping 11 lbs, 3 oz! Momma is so proud.
We went to Saint Ann's church (where we were married) to watch the fireworks. It was a great location, we could see fireworks up and down the coast, in Kennebunk, Wells, Ogunquit and York. Oh yeah, Chase slept through those too.
Thank you all for the prayers. Looking back, this time last year we were given devastating news, but here we are, a year later still here and with a baby. Nothing can break us, not then, not now, not ever.
Love,
Heather, Alec, Chase and Millie
